My two babies!

I had to get a picture of these two asleep on the couch. My hubby had just put Justin down after his feeding, when Candy came over and made herself comfy as well. They just looked so cute and comfy.
I am very excited today because I made the Top 5 over at FCCB. Yippie! Thanks for stopping by.

FCCB #31- On the Wall

I was so happy to see this challenge over at FCCB. This project had been "in progress" for a while now. I lost my poor kitty Ashes to cancer in 2007. When she was so sick and it was time for her to go, her vet was so caring. They gave us a momento box with her collar and a small paper mache box with her paw imprint in clay. We thought this was so sweet. I always knew I wanted to display it. I made this shadow box to honor her memory. I used the Storybook cartridge to cut her name. The Home Accents cartridge for the plaque I mounted her name to. Then because the background paper I used had butterflies, I cut some butterflies with the Create a Critter cartrige. Let me know what you think.

CPS Sketch #187

Yippie! I got to sneak in to my craft room yesterday. I had a BoBunny card kit from last year that I never used. I figured since I don't have much scrap time these days, I better start on some Christmas cards. I loved this sketch from CPS this week, simple and very versatile. So here is my take on the challenge. Thanks for stopping by.

CPS #185

It's been forever since I have been able to participate in any challenges, hopefully I will be able to get back into things. I made this card to congratulate a co-worker on her new baby. I stamped the baby image and colored it in with my new prismacolor pencils. These are very new for me, I am still practicing. I hope to be as good as some of the other people that enter these challenges one day. I based the card on CPS Sketch #185. I hope to sneak into my craft room again to get the creative juices going again. Thanks for stopping by.

CPS #178

This is a quick and simple card I made as a thank you for a baby gift that was sent to us from a friend. I used the card sketch from CPS #178. I actually used only scraps of paper and ribbon for this card. I love when I can use all those little bits and pieces. I couldn't believe I even had a scrap of ribbon to match. I am not sure if anyone else does this, but I save all the ribbons from gifts for use later. I have re-used some really nice ribbon. I just love to save some cash when I can. Let me know what you think.

Another card for CPS#177

Yeah!! I got to sneak back to do a little crafting today. Here is another card for my hubby's co-worker using sketch #177 from CPS. Yup, here comes another baby. Doesn't it make you wonder, "WHAT IS IN THE WATER????" Anyway, I really loved this sketch. You can really do as much or as little you want and your card looks great. I did a little embossing, I love the way an embossed stamp looks but I am just not that great at that process. I guess practice makes perfect. Let me know what you think. Hope everyone has a great weekend.

CPS #177

Wow!! I can't believe it has been a whole month since my last post. And it's been even longer since I have had any crafting time. After 6 weeks with a new baby in the house, we are finally having a small sense of order and a schedule. Our boy brightens our days. We feel so lucky. And if you are wondering, Candy has been OK with this big change. She is curious about him but runs away when he cries. It is pretty funny.
This is my entry for CPS #177. I tipped toed into my craft room to get the creative juices flowing. I made this simple card to start. Thanks for stopping by.

OMG- He's here!!!!

There hasn't been much time for crafting lately, we have been too busy lovin' on our new baby boy. I can't believe he is already 2 weeks old. I just can't stop holding him and just staring at him. We have been very blessed that his birthmother chose us. He is the light of our lives. We thank God everyday... Here he is!!

FCCB #12-shower the baby

Another project for a baby shower coming up in 2 weeks. This friend does not know the sex of the baby yet but she also has a safari theme. I used the design studio to weld the 2 Lion shadow shapes from the Create a Critter cartridge. I just love the way shaped cards come on but I usually forget to do it. The rest of the card was the layered shapes. If you don't have this cartridge yet, you should seriously think about it. It has so many cute Critters!!! Thanks for stopping by.

Fantabulous Cricut Challenge #12: Shower the baby

It appears to be babytime everywhere. As we are "on call" for our baby to be born (our birthmother is due any day now), I have several friends awaiting the births of their babies soon. It's like a baby explosion!! I made this for a friend's upcoming shower. Her nursery theme is safari animals. What a great time to use my favorite cartridge Create A Critter. I cut all the animals and grass/leaves with this cartridge. I then used the Cuttin Up cartridge to cut the name. I am going to put a gift card where the picture goes that way she can get any items she needs that she did not receive. I think it's pretty cute.

Curious about all the changes

We have been so busy preparing for the arrival of our baby boy who is due in about 2 weeks. I of course have been procrastinating a bit, but now we are on a roll. The room is almost ready and we have started assembling the necessities. We had put together the stroller, then placed in the corner out of the way. I guess it wasn't out of the way enough, Candy immediately had to inspect it!!

Father's Day card with CPS Sketch #168

I have been super busy these past two weeks, it was nice to have a little time to sit down and be creative. This is a quick Father's day card for my father-in-law using Sketch #168. I found this camping paper for a steal at Michaels, I think the colors work well for a masculine project. I am on vacation the next week for my B-day. I am so excited!!!

Change in my Life- Scrapping the Music

Wow, I came across this great challenge blog for scrapbook layouts, http://scrappingthemusic.blogspot.com/. They choose songs as inspiration. This challenge totally touched my heart. I listened to the song then read the lyrics, it certainly spoke to me. I used the lyrics of the song as journaling and highlighted special verses that were important to me. Over the past year, my hubby and I have had many struggles. It seems as though things are looking up for us as we are waiting for our future adopted child to be born (that is why there aren't pictures in the layout yet). I have struggled with preparing for his birth/arrival for fear of disappointment. This is the first step I am taking to start opening my heart once again. There is going to be a change in my life really soon and I can't wait. Thanks for stopping by.

NSD Critter-licious at The Pink Stamper website

I just love this Create a Critter cartridge. I saw this challenge for The Pink Stamper and thought I would give it a try. I love this little fox, he looks a little mischievious. I made the card for my hubby cause I think he's FOXY! Hope you enjoy. Thanks for stopping by.

My new Cricut cartridges

I treated myself to a splurge last week at Michaels. They had the cartridges on sale. I so wanted the Create a Critter cartridge but they didn't have it on my first trip to the store. I was thinking they probably didn't have it since it is fairly new. I did find the Forever Young cartridge that I have been wanting for a while, so I bought that one. I went back to Michaels to stock up on blank cards (they were a such a good deal!!) I walked by the cartridge display and just happened to glance at the R. top corner and to my surprise there was Create a Critter. I think it must have been Devine Intervention. As you can guess, I actually treated myself twice!!hehe. Here are some cute cards I made with Create a Critter. Hope you like them. Have a great Friday.

1st Scrapbook L/O post with sketch from 2S4U #50

I have been crazy for all these great challenges. I have been churning out cards left and right. Yesterday in my scrapbooking stuff, I found these super cute pictures of Candy sleeping in freshly washed sheets. I knew this was next on my to-do list. I used sketch #50 from 2 Sketches 4 U for the first page of my double page layout. I didn't realize until after I was done that this site is for cards. I hope they don't mind me joining in with this layout. I included a 2nd picture of the completed project. I used the Cricut Storybook and Opposites Attract cartridges. Let me know what you think. Thanks.

Have you heard of "Operation Write Home"

I recently came across the blog of a talented crafter who participates in Operation Write Home. I had heard about it at one of the scrapbook conventions I attended but didn't know all the details. I wandered over to the website http://operationwritehome.org/. I was instantly touched by what they do. This organization collects homemade cards that are shipped to soldiers so they can keep in touch with family and friends while they are deployed. As they said, there is not a Hallmark store around the corner for them to get cards to send to there loved ones. I was sold. What a great cause to put my creativity to good use. I am a stockpiler, so I always have extra cardmaking supplies. I have challenged myself to make a card for a soldier after I complete a project for myself. I have about 10 so far. Here are a few I made from a kit I bought on clearance at Michaels. Thanks for stopping by.

CPS #163 & BBTB2- Rick Rack cut

I haven't crafted much recently, the days have been very blah-blah here with alot of rain. I just wanted to stay under the covers and watch movies. On Friday, I did go with my hubby to Best Buy (mostly because there is a Michaels next door.) My creativity is now flowing. I made this card for a co-worker who will be having a baby girl in 2months. I am entering it in 2 challenges. I used the CPS #163 sketch with my own twist of course. I also used the rick rack cut from Plantin Schoolbook for the BBTB2 challenge. I hope to post more pictures of my work with my new finds from my recent trip to Michaels.

Received scrap goodies in the mail!!!! Cat NOT INCLUDED...

I was soo excited when my doorbell rang yesterday, my shipment from Embellish It INC. had arrived. I got the new BoBunny card kit, a huge pack of Bazzil's dotted swiss papers in a lot of colors, and a few kits that were marked down. What a deal!!! As I was looking at all the goodies I had removed from the box, I heard something coming from the box. Well, guess who has claimed the now empty box. Candy loves to play with empty boxes, what a crazy kitty....

CCC #19- Anything Goes & Fantabulous CCB #04- word: happy and shape:flower

I have many birthdays to prepared cards for this month. Another niece will be having a "bird" day also... get it? LOL. I am addicted to all the spring colors that are out right now. I used the Storybook cartridge for the "Happy Bird-Day" and the Stamping cartridge for the bird shape. I then stamped a few flowers to give it a spring-like feel. Thanks for stopping by. Let me know what you think.

A curious Cat

I was on the computer doing our dreaded TAXES.... This of course required my utmost attention. Candy our cat was of course trying to get some love and attention. After a while, I thought things were too quiet. I heard a little rustling from under my desk and found my crazy cat in the trash bin. All I can say is curious, curious, curious!

FCCB #003- Bling it On and Cricutters Anonynmous # 30

Wow I can't believe it has been a week since my last post. Oh where does the time go! I think my Baby Bug was probably getting lonely... hehe. Well,I made this card for my niece's upcoming 18th birthday. I am entering it in the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog #003. I bling-ed it with glitter and rhinestones. I am also entering it in the Cricutters Anonymous Womans challenge #30. I cut the cake with the Stamping Cartridge and the #18 with Base Camp cartridge. I used my cuttlebug for the embossing, then lightly inked over the image with a darker pink ink. Hope you like it. Have a great Wednesday.

Easter Card

I made this card for my Hunny-Bunny (get it..) LOL. I think it qualifies for several challenges. I used the sketch from CPS #159. It has an Easter theme with Pastel colors for the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge #002. I am also using this card for CCC #18- Easter theme since I used my cricut to cut the bunny. The shape is from Doodlecharms. What a cute bunny, just like my hunny. Hope you have a wonderful day. Thanks for stopping by.

Just Buggin Challenge #29- Project for a man

This challenge really made me think outside of the box. I make tons of cards for my girlfriends but very few for men. Well, this is what I came up with. I made this card for my brother-in-law who is a TOTAL rock fan. He loves rock music and rock concerts. I thought this guitar would be great on a card for his upcoming birthday. I used Opposites Attract for the lettering, George for the white star, and Stamping for the guitar. Thanks for visiting.

CPS #158 and BBTB2: flourish

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE all these great challenge blogs. I am having so much fun participating. I made this card for a friend. I want to thank her for being so inspiring to me. My picture doesn't do this glittered patterned paper justice. It is gorgeous in person. I am new to these challenges, so if anyone has some tips for me on photographing entries (especially for glittered items) I would appreciate it. Back to my card, I used the Storybook cartridge for the patterned and red paper. I didn't have the SYI cartridge for the Bitten by the Bug 2 challenge but I thought this title would work as a flourish. The title is from the Home Accents cartridge. The sketch is from CPS #158. Thanks for stopping by. Hope you have a wonderful day.

CCC #16-Springtime and CPS #157

I made this card with 2 challenges in mind. The first was the Cricut Cardz Challenge #16. I used the Graphically Speaking cartridge for the butterflies and the Stamping cartridge for the scallop circle and rings. I went with a simple sentiment of "SMILE" since thinking of spring coming certainly makes me smile. Thanks for stopping by. Let me know what you think.

CPS # 156 & CCC # 14- St. Patricks Day theme

I am so diggin' these challenge blogs. I am so excited to be getting so much more crafting done. I am ashamed to say my craft desk was starting to get dusty. I made this card for my sis who loves anything Irish, including Norte Dame. The sketch I used was from CPS #156. It also qualifies for the Cricut Cardz Challenge #14. None of my cartridges has anything St. Patty's themed but I remembered I saw some one had paper-pieced together a four-leaf clover out of hearts. I used Cricut Design Studio to weld the hearts from the George cartridge and the stem from Opposites Attract. I cut a large clover and traced the shape with glitter on the lt. green paper. I then cut a smaller one and completely covered in with glitter. I know how us girls like bling. Hope you like it. Thanks for stopping by.

Just buggin #26- Dry emboss & CPS #155

I found this rub on saying and thought about how nice it would be to congratulate someone on a "Job well done." I loved the teal and yellow in the pattern paper and went from there. I think it is pretty cheery and would brighten someones day. I used the design sketch #155 from CPS. The teal piece was cut using Storybook Cartridge and dry embossed with my Cuttlebug swiss dots. Let me know what you think. Thanks.

Candy and my Cricut

Ever heard the saying, "Curiosity killed the cat." Candy has been a part of our family for about 2 years and boy does she walk that line. I have had more than my share of scarry "oh cr**" moments with her. She gets in every nook and cranny that might have something interesting. She even went as far as getting stuck in our reclining sofa on her 2nd day in the house. After minor surgery on the sofa, she was out without injury. I captured this picture when I was doing a card for a challenge recently. I guess she hadn't seen my Cricut in a while, so it definitely caught her attention. What a hoot she is.

Just Buggin #25 & Cricut Cardz #13

Where does the time go...It seems like forever since I have even touched my Cricut. I thought I was going to have to read the manual again....just kidding. Well, this is a first for me. I made this card for 2 challenges the Black/White on Just Buggin' and a 9x4 card for Cricut Cardz Challenge. I made it fairly simple because I have a niece and nephew graduating soon. I thought this was fairly universal. I didn't have a cap or diploma. I guess I need to look for a new cartridge. We all know how easily it is to be addicted to Cricut cartridges..hehe. I used Alphalicious for the saying and George for the shapes. Thanks for stopping by.

Just Buggin Challenge #22- All about food

I'm not sure if this meets the challenge but to me, daiquiris and margaritas are a food group sometimes. And for a girls night out, daiquiris are a must! At least the orange on the glass will give you some vitamin C....LOL!
I used Doodlecharms for the orange slice, Serenade for the glass, and Cuttin' Up for the saying. Leave me a comment and let me know what you think. Thanks!

Luggage surprise!

We are getting ready for a trip to California and I couldn't find Candy. I was about to start packing, when to my surprise I found her.. in the luggage!! I started laughing. I guess she wants to go too!

Just Buggin Challenge #21-Monochromatic

I am sooo excited to be joining these challenges. I love my Cricut but am often stumped for ideas. Here's my take on a monochromatic design. I loved this fancy pants rub on and my hubby loves blue, hope everyone likes it. I used the Home Accents cartridge for the frame and Storybook cartridge for the corner scrolls.

First Post!!

I am very new to blogs. This is my first attempt at posting. I am a little confused by all this but am trying to work it out with the help of my computer savy hubby.
